FRANKFURT - An off-duty V Corps military policeman was killed in a head-on automobile accident late Friday night at the intersection of Eugene Kaiser and Kinzig streets in Hanau, an Army spokesman said Wednesday.

Sgt. Jeffrey F. Weise, 22, assigned to the 127th MP Co, 709th MP Bn, was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle collided head on with a vehicle driven by a 31 year-old German.

The German driver was hospitalized with internal injuries and multiple fractures.

Weise, a native of Geneva, N.Y., is survived by his mother Hazel, three brothers and one sister.

German and military police are investigating.

MEMORIAL SUBMITTED BY PJ McGARRY

We were stationed together at my first duty station, Seneca army depot, NY from November '78 to about March '81 when Jeff PCS'd to Germany.  I'll tell you how I remember him...he was loyal, a good athlete, and just a heck of a guy.  He didn’t back down from people, I saw him pick up guys that had 75 lbs on him.  I know its rambling now but I am trying to give you a sense of who he was; a real good friend of mine who I wish was still here.

I guess God had a different plan for Jeff but just typing these words about him is not easy.
