Let us not forget Staff Sergeant Robert Wayne Oates, casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, SSG Oates served our country until August 10th, 1966 in South Vietnam. He was 36 years old and was not married. Robert died when his vehicle crashed. His body was recovered. Robert was born on July 19th, 1930 in Paicines, California.

SSG Oates is on panel 09E, line 124 of the Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for 14 years.
