Pfc. Lewis Adam Lugo

 
KAISERSLAUTERN (21st Theater Support Comd. Public Affairs Office) — A memorial service was held July 2 at Mannheim’s Benjamin Franklin Village for a Mannheim soldier who died after collapsing during a battalion run.

Pfc. Lewis Lugo was a military policeman assigned to the 272nd Military Police Co., 95th MP Bn., 37th Transportation Comd., 21st Theater Support Comd.

Lugo was pronounced dead at a Mannheim hospital by the attending physician June 27 at around 9:30 a.m.

He was participating in a two-mile run on Sullivan Barracks in Mannheim when he collapsed at about 7 a.m. He was treated at the scene by unit medics before being taken by ambulance to the hospital.

His home town was Colton, Calif.
