Let us not forget Specialist Four Edward Joseph Jurek, II, casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service, SP4 Jurek served our country until March 25th, 1968 in Binh Duong, South Vietnam. He was 21 years old and was not married. Edward died from artillery fire. His body was recovered. Edward was born on February 16th, 1947 in Meriden, Connecticut.

SP4 Jurek is on panel 46E, line 019 of the Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for one year.

Above individual MP was KIA in (I think) April 1968 in Lai Khe SVN - was in 1 MP Company - Big Red one - was killed by 122 rocket - he tried to outdrive some incoming as he had done before but this time one hit right in front of jeep - a SSG who was with him rolled out into guttering along airstrip and survived - Jurek was 21 years of age - a SP4 and was from Meridan,Connecticut - I did not know him but was in company in Di'An - newly arrived in country - Jurek had been in country 12 months but was about to go home and then return to 1 MP Company for 6 months more.
