SFC M. Ramona Hampton

SFC Hampton entered the Army in July of 1981.  She attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training as a Military Policeman at Fort McClellan, Alabama.  Her military education and training include the Primary Leadership Course, Basic Technical Course, Instructor Training Course, Drill Sergeant School, Combat Lifesaver Course, Motor Transport Operations and Administrative Specialist Course.

SFC Hampton's duty positions include Military Policeman/Team Member, 300th MP Co, Germany, October '81 to October '83; Military Policeman/Team Member, 9th MP Company, Fort Lewis, Washington, November '83 to March '85; Team Leader/Squad Leader, 6632nd Port Security, Los Alamitos, California, March '85 to September '86; Administrative NCO, 6218th USARACBN, Bell, CA, September '87 to December '88; Drill Sergeant, 2nd Bn, 3rd Bde, Renton, WA, December '89 to December '91; Training NCO, 310th TAACOM, Kaiserslautern, Germany, December '92 to December '93; Platoon Sergeant, 6218th USARECBN, Bell, CA, October '95 to November '97; Instructor/Writer, 2nd Bn (MP), 95th Division, Baton Rouge, LA, November '97 to February '03; Instructor/Writer, 701st MP Bn, Ft Leonard Wood, MO, March '03 to Present.

SFC Hampton has received numerous awards and commendations, which include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon w/numeral 2, National Defense Service Medal, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (5th).  SFC Hampton is survived by her husband, Kenneth, and son, Martin.  

A memorial ceremony in memory of SFC M. Ramona Hampton was conducted on 22 September 2004 at 1000 hrs in the Specker Chapel on Fort Leonard Wood, MO. The opening and closing prayers were led by CH(MAJ) Boulware.  Roll Call was conducted by the A/701st 1SG, 1SG Counts.  SFC Hampton's Bio was read by the A/701st Cdr, CPT Brian Bettis.  The congregation joined to sing "Amazing Grace" which was followed by remembrances being provided by SFC Johnson. The 23 Psalm was read by LTC Saunders.  CH(MAJ) Williams then provided special music.  A message was delivered by CH(MAJ) Boulware and this was followed by a moment of silence and the closing prayer.
