Let us not forget Sergeant Paul Thomas Gillaspie, casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, SGT Gillaspie served our country until November 27th, 1970 in South Vietnam. He was 20 years old and was not married. Paul died from an undetermined accident. His body was recovered. Paul was born on May 1st, 1950 in Topeka, Kansas.

SGT Gillaspie is on panel 06W, line 086 of the Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.

"I wish we had talked more. " -  I went to Highland Park High School in Topeka, Kansas with Paul. He was a quiet guy but always friendly. I believe he worked after school quite a bit. He wasn't able to participate in after school activities, clubs, etc. He graduated in 1967 with my class, but, there are no pictures of him in the yearbook. That makes me feel bad since I was a year book photographer. I went to VietNam in 69-70, 101st Abn. but never saw Paul there.
