Raymond Garcia,
81, of Milton, husband of Rena Blankenship Garcia, died Saturday, June
26, 2004, at his residence. A memorial service was held Friday, July 2,
2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Father Bert Valdes officiating.
Inurement will be at a later date at Riverside National Cemetery,
Riverside, Calif.
Ray was born July 17, 1922, in Frederick Colo., a son of the late Max
and Josephine Montez Garcia. He was also preceded in death by his
beloved Chrisina Renay; sisters, Matilda Vigil, Elsie Beaubien and Rita
Rowley; brothers, Max and Rueben Garcia.
Ray served as a Pharmacist Mate in the Navy during World War II and as
a Military Police in the Army during the Korean Campaign. He was a
member of the American Legion Post 139, Milton and the DAV, and retired
from Chemical Leaman Tank Lines.
Along with his wife, Ray is survived by his three daughters and
son-in-laws, Anita and Russell Copodonna and granddaughters Brittney
and Jeni of Milton, Lisa and Randy Park and children Kimberly and Kevin
of Phelan, Calif., Karen and David Hall and children Taylor and Trevor
of Richmond, Ind.; two sons, Darrin Garcia at home and Raymond Garica
II of Las Vegas, Nev., and granddaughter Kayla Garcia of Riverside,
Calif.; stepsons, Dana Tyler of Milton and Dwight Tyler of St. Albans;
three brothers, Ted Garcia of La Mirada, Calif., Tony Garcia and Frank
Garcia of San Bruno, Calif.; his loving sister, Doris Childers of
Burney, Calif.; godchildren, Raymond Pacheco, Antonette Ellis, Rebecca
Deutch and Heather Hutchinson.
