SSG Dellecese retired from the Army after 20 years of service, some of
which was in the Marine Corps, but most of which was with the U.S.
Army.
After his retirement he settled in Tecumseh, Michigan, where he served
for a short time in the sheriff's department. He transferred to the
Police Department where he became Police Chief.
He served in that capacity until his death on December 16, 1988.
The fact that Dellecese was highly respected and well liked by his
peers, as well as the townspeople that he served, was demonstrated by
the huge numbers of police officers from all over Michigan, and
surrounding states, as well as those citizens of Tecumseh and
surrounding communities, who attended his funeral.
He was buried with full military honors, which was witnessed by his
family and his many police friends.
SSG Dellecese, is survived by his widow, two daughters, sisters and
brothers, who still feel the great loss.
