Services for John M. Campbell Jr., 56, of Anniston will be Sunday at 7 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Cord Community Cemetery in Cord, Ark. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5-7 p.m.

Mr. Campbell died Wednesday at Stringfellow Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte A. Campbell; two daughters, Patricia Campbell of Gold Bar, Wash. and Margaret Campbell; a son, Bradford Campbell of Jacksonville; a sister, Rosemary Campbell of Firth, Nova Scotia; and a brother, Tom Fitzgerald of Sequim, Wash.

Mr. Campbell had lived in Anniston 16 years and was a Roman Catholic. He served 21 years in the Army and worked as a deputy sheriff in Calhoun County for seven years.



MEMOIR BY RICHARD BARFIELD

JC was my Platoon Sergeant during the 1970's and 1980's while assigned to the 9th MP Co at Fort Lewis, Washington.  He served with the Fourth Infantry Division in Vietnam and succumbed to Pancreatic Cancer.
