Let us not forget Private First Class James Charles Bermingham, casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service, PFC Bermingham served our country until October 9th, 1965 in South Vietnam. He was 22 years old and was not married. James died when his vehicle crashed. His body was recovered. James was born on November 16th, 1942 in Gordon, Nebraska.

PFC Bermingham is on panel 02E, line 114 of the Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for one year.

On Saturday, 9 October 1965, PFC Bermingham was killed in a vehicle crash. He was part of the two jeep convoy escort guarding a shipment of tanks from Saigon to Bien Hoa.

On the return trip in the darkness, the jeep he was a passenger in struck a disabled Vietnamese civilian truck parked along the side of the roadway. The driver survived and Bermingham died from injuries received from the crash.
