NORWALK -- Larry David Baum, 61, of
Norwalk, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Allen Medical Center, Oberlin.
He was born Sept. 17, 1942, in
Norwalk, and was a 1960 graduate of Townsend and Wakeman Schools.
Baum served in the U.S. Army from 1964
to 1966 with the 504th Military Police Unit in Vietnam.
He retired after 33 years with
Carpenters Union Local 940, having worked with several area contractors
and was currently a driver for 7 D Trucking. He also farmed in Townsend
Township for many years.
He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran
Church, Norwalk. He enjoyed target shooting and attending events at the
mud bog.
Survivors include his wife, Kay L.
(nee Overmyer); daughters Jacqueline Visintine of Ashland and Jennifer
Baum of Norwalk; brother, Robert Baum of Norwalk; sister, Lynda Davis
of Loveland, Colo.; and a grandson and nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Lois Baum; and sister, Judy
Baum.
Friends may call Friday, 4 to 8 p.m.,
at Evans and Groff Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. A memorial
service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243
Benedict Ave., with the Rev. Fred Wiechers officiating. Burial with
military honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
